Nutrient Dense healthy snack option.
Loaded with protein, fiber, healthy fats.
Naturally sweetened with a small amount of maple syrup.
Rich chocolaty taste enhanced by a pinch of sea salt.
Simple to make.
Use a food processor to combine nuts and dates until crumbly. Add in flax, cacao and sea salt and process until the mixture becomes a ball. It may take 2-3 minutes, depending on how strong your processor is. Taste mixture and add maple syrup if it’s not sweet enough for you, processing until very well incorporated.
Prepare a small plate with a mixture of hemp seeds and finishing salt.
Turn the dough out onto the counter or a plate.
Using your hands, roll mixture into small 1 ½” balls. You will get about 18, depending on size. If you want more uniform balls, use a small scoop to portion out and then roll into smooth balls.
Roll the brownie bites into the hemp mixture until evenly coated. You can also prepare the hemp/salt and place in a small zip top bag and drop the balls into the bag and shake to thoroughly coat.
Store in an airtight container room temp for a few days, in the fridge for a week, or in the freezer for 3 months.
Notes
I prefer to eat these cold, and you can eat these straight from the freezer....which may not help if you're trying to hide them from yourself!
