Wash well. Halve. Remove core and stem. Peel if desired. Cut into pieces.
Load apples, lemon rind, lemon juice, cinnamon stick and a couple of apple peels into the instant pot, regular pot or slow cooker.
Instant Pot: 8 minutes high pressure. Crock Pot: 4 hours on high Stove top: 30 minutes.
Remove the cinnamon sticks and fruit peels. Serve warm or cold. Use an immersion blender if you prefer smmoth applesauce.
